I am a contemporary landscape artist based in Sussex, close to the beautiful South Downs which inspire much of my work. My compositions are expressionist in style, abstracting the landscape through bold brushstrokes and intense colours. Originally from Oxfordshire, I studied fine art at college before switching to the philosophy of art and aesthetics at Lancaster University. I moved to Sussex in 2006 after leaving Lancashire (a very different sort of landscape!) and have been painting ever since, experimenting with styles and media. I work predominantly in oils on canvas, I also make sketches and studies in charcoal, Indian ink and graphite.
